Our group is about to enter its second year. From humble beginnings we now have seven regular members and currently communications are ongoing with two would-be joiners. What do these undecided people want to know? Apart from when do we meet? (The last Tuesday afternoon of each month) and where do we meet? (My house in Peters Green), the most common question is: what level of German is acceptable? The answer is simply all levels - from rusty ‘O’ Level/GCSE to fluent, as is our delightful native speaker, Marianne, who is
Swiss German.

Our get-togethers begin by chatting about a particular topic (for which advance notice is always given) and then break for tea and biscuits (sehr wichtig!). During the last half hour or so we listen to a German podcast and translate it, one person at a time, as best we can (viel Spaß!).
